I met Wendy when she came to Sydney to study in high school. I was so excited because I finally had a friend to talk Hong Kong film stars and singers. Wendy is like a big sister to me as well. She is honest and would scold me for my silliness. I would then bother her back with dragging her to tennis matches, press conferences and endless chattering about Michael Chang haha.
Then Wendy migrated to NZ with her family, and I did have the opportunity to visit her in NZ a number of times, up to when I had to travel for work in Auckland, I am ever so grateful that I can stay with Wendy and her family.
I remember very well my visit to HK, when we were 15 yrs old we went to Ocean Park. Boy You were not keen but you just had to company me this ride crazy girl.
During my honeymoon, we met in London. How fun was that we had afternoon tea just before flying back to Sydney. 15 years ago, I cannot comprehend that it was the last time I saw you in person. So happy with Tony in London and exploring the world.
Every year you would send gifts to Gracelyn and hand made Christmas cards from the boys. I still have the gifts for Gracelyn, they were so precious we don't have the heart to use them.
It took me a while to write this. I miss you so much my friend Wendy. We are at the opposite ends of the world. I am so grateful that in the mornings I could just pick up the phone and message you. But now I cannot. I don't know what to do.
But deep down I know you are always in my heart. I am grateful to know your family and they treat me as theirs too. If I need to talk to you, I know I can just talk to you and you will be listening to me.
Love you very much Wendy. We shall meet again when the time comes xxoo
